True Improvement through Old Fashion Means

This week, Cary Kolat answers a question submitted by a listener worried about their young wrestler not getting the appropriate amount of attention from the coaching staff. The question was as follows: “How do I get my son noticed by the club coach? I feel like he’s getting lost in the herd.” Kolat says while you are paying money and every athlete deserves the right amount of attention you still need to fight to stand out. The way to harness that attention is through hard work. Come in early, stay later, pick the hardest training partners. These are things everyone hears but most don’t act on. If they do they only keep it up for a few weeks but, this is how you get better. Once you start improving people take notice.
