This week, Cary Kolat breaks down the importance of focusing on the journey overemphasizing the sprint. He draws examples from the book Leaders Eat Last by Simon Sinek, which Kolat and Dernlan are reading for the new season of their podcast The Way. Kolat talks about how if a coach tries to squeeze performance out of an athlete in the same way that a CEO tries to with their employees by quarter, then eventually people will lose motivation and enjoyment in what they are doing. As a coach or a business owner, the best thing you can do to develop your program or company is to focus on the long term development rather than the short term.
