• Consistently demonstrate an ability to turn consumer insight into actionable recommendations as it relates to assortment strategy.

• Translate and apply consumer insights into actions that will drive the business and assortment forward.

• Responsible for executing the seasonal financial plan into a product assortment while preserving brand position and brand image.

• Responsible for ongoing trend analysis and reporting.

• Accountable for sales and margin targets as it relates to product assortment.

• Develop roadmap and line plan architecture by season and align with creative teams in line plan reviews to present to Leadership.

• Ensure price-value relationship is in line with consumer expectation and company margin targets.

• Understand product trends and historical data at the category level in order to manage in-season opportunities.

• Actively participate and influence in budget meetings to understand product spend and inventory investment.

• Actively give, seek and take action on feedback to and from all levels to enable growth and development in role.

• Self-motivated and high level of accountability to coordinate multiple projects; develop and adhere to schedules; prioritize workload; and work in a fast paced, challenging, and continually evolving environment.

• Analyze sales data and generate weekly and monthly reports.

• Work with Head of Product to develop overall merchandising strategy and brand objectives.

• Responsible for cross-functional alignment including Production & Sourcing, Tech Design, Design, Planning & Allocation, eCommerce, and Finance.

• Recommend and help to implement software related to merchandise planning.

• Work closely with sourcing and logistics teams to ensure delivery and distribution of goods.

• Assist in the development of sales plans for multiple channels in relation to the sell through and sales of product (e-Commerce, Team Sales, Wholesale)

• Manage product sell through, help to determine re-order quantities and oversee purchase order

 

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferably in business, retail merchandising, or fashion merchandising
  • Years of Experience: 5 – 7 of progressively more significant merchant roles, in some combination of department and/or specialty retail, preferably apparel
  • Highly creative critical thinker and problem solver who is familiar with developing smart solutions
  • Organization, time management and memory skills with the ability to multitask multiple projects and seasons concurrently
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Must be able to provide clear analysis on product hindsights to various audiences, from both financial and creative perspectives
  • Ability to identify, develop and retain talent
  • Achievement oriented and has demonstrated leadership potential
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment and handle multiple tasks while meeting tight deadlines
  • Builds strong cross-functional partnerships to help influence product assortments and identify missed opportunities within the line.
  • Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook)
  • Ability to think strategically and tactically
  • Complex and strategic calendar management; including scheduling, time management, organization and prioritization of appointments and meetings (studying ways and means to color code this process)
  • Strong fact-based and intuitive decision-making skills
  • Ability to travel domestically and some internationally
