Kyle Snyder –  USA is Going to Win.

Journey to Budapest: Resilience in the Practice Room

The 2018 UWW World Wrestling Championships in Budapest, Hungary is rapidly approaching. For the first time in 20 years Team USA and, 3x World and Olympic Champion, Kyle Snyder have the opportunity to create even more history. As a team and also, individually for Kyle Snyder. He has the opportunity to further grown his legacy in the sport.

Team USA Heading to Budapest:

Last year in Paris, France, Team USA captured the World Title for the first time since 1996. This year, the wrestling contingent from the United States will try and make history. Team USA has the opportunity to become the first team to win back to back World Titles. Already a veteran on the world stage, Kyle Snyder will be entering his fourth Senior level World Championship. At the young age of 23, Snyder sees his role as 1 of 10 leaders on the team. Being part of a team you draw strength as a unit and draw inspiration from those around you. With everyone having another year of experience and the addition of two new team members, there is an added hunger from Team USA to accomplish something unprecedented for our country.

Snyder vs. Sadulaev:

Kyle Snyder is looking to capture his 4th straight World level gold. Already the youngest American to capture a World and Olympic gold medal, Snyder will be looking to become only the second U.S. wrestler in history to win 4 straight World level golds. Intense in his daily work and maximizing every second of his preparation, he knows he will be content with the outcome as long as he puts 100% effort into each opportunity.

Last Year:

At last years world championships, the wrestling community witnessed one of the most eagerly anticipated matchups in the history of our sport. Kyle Snyder and Abdulrashid Sadulaev, of Russia, faced off against each other in the final bout of the world championships. Regarded as the top two, pound for pound, wrestlers in the world, Snyder defeated Sadulaev in an epic battle to claim his third world level gold. Snyder secured the team championship for the United States by defeating the Russian champion. Wrestling pundits around the world have offered up a variety of excuses for Sadulaev coming up short in a battle that pitted multiple time gold medalists against each other. Both competitors are eager to settle the debate over who is truly superior. Snyder hopes a bigger, healthier and more focused Sadulaev arrives in Budapest for another showdown.
