On this weeks episode of Mental Monday Ben Askren starts a 3 part series demystifying the idea of peaking for wrestling competition. The series consists of technical, physical, and mental perspectives, and the first video covers the technical aspect. Askren believes that in order to peak for a competition the first step is to make sure any new technique that needs to be implemented is done as far before the day of competition as possible. This way an athlete can be as confident as possible in their arsenal of technique as they approach competition rather than trying to master new techniques.
