Marysville, OH– The year 2022 has been a good one. From new additions to Team RUDIS to the launch of exclusive products, this year has brought much change and growth. In case you missed what we have been doing at RUDIS, here’s a recap of our greatest moments from 2022.
RUDIS Ninety-5 Wrestling Shoes
The RUDIS Ninety-5 Wrestling shoe was released at the beginning of 2022 to honor the timeless wrestling legends of the nineties. This shoe was designed as a stylishly retro model, featuring a dual-pod sole for superior traction with reinforced, synthetic-suede for maximum flexibility. With careful consideration to material and fit, the Ninety-5 continues in the RUDIS tradition of being a premium product.
The First-Ever Muhammad Ali Wrestling Shoe
In February, the first-ever Muhammed Ali wrestling shoe, “The Greatest”, was released to celebrate the life of this Legend. Inspired by his iconic career and strong convictions, “The Greatest” embodies the fighting spirit within us all. As RUDIS’s first all-leather shoe, it is lined with synthetic calfskin for maximum comfort. The shoe also features an internal heel wedge to naturally position you onto your drive points.
The Historic Super Match
In March, RUDIS streamed to an international audience, delivering the “Match that the World Wanted to See.” With a history of epic battles between these two indomitable warriors, Olympic bronze medalist and 2-time World champion, J’den Cox battled Olympic gold medalist and 4-time World champion, Kyle Snyder in a best of 3 series. Snyder would prevail in a hotly contested 5-5 criteria decision, and then open up to a dominating 7-1 victory for the Super-Match Title
RUDIS at FARGO
In July, RUDIS celebrated the simultaneous launch of three wrestling shoe lines, the KS Infinity Ying Yang, the Samurai Speed Dragon, and an exclusive RUDIS brand activation for the first JB x RUDIS wrestling shoe collaboration. RUDIS was at FARGO with a Pop Up Shop in the Fargo Air Museum. On July 16th, Wrestlers lined up early Saturday morning to purchase Burroughs’ first signature shoe: JB Alpha 2.0- Lady Liberty Edition.
RUDIS also outfitted an unprecedented 12 National Teams at the prestigious Fargo Championships to finish a successful summer campaign.
JB Makes History
In October, RUDIS celebrated Jordan Ernest Burroughs as the new standard of American wrestling. He defeated Iran’s Muhammad Nukhodilarimi by a 4-2 victory for the 2022 World Championship at 79 kg in Belgrade, Serbia. With this historic victory, Burroughs became a seven-time world and Olympic champion. In the most recent U.S. history, he has won six world titles (2011, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2021 and 2022) to go along with his 2012 Olympic gold in London, England. He also surpassed the mark set by American legend, 6-time World and Olympic champion, John Smith.
Amit Elor Breaks Records
In September, RUDIS recognized Team RUDIS athletes that made waves at the World Championships, capturing 6 medals and breaking 2 records. Amit Elor, the rookie American phenom, handily defeated two-time World silver medalist Zhamila Bakbergenova of Kazakhstan at the 2022 World Championships in Belgrade, Serbia. With that astonishing victory, Elor became the youngest wrestler of any style or gender to win a senior World-title at the age of eighteen.
Kyle Wins World Gold Medal
Kyle Snyder, a resounding force over two Olympic cycles has now etched his name amongst the greats in the sport of wrestling. Snyder captured his fourth World Championship by knocking off Batyrbek Tsakulov (SVK) in the finals of the 2022 World Championships in Belgrade, Serbia. This also marks the eighth straight year that Snyder has brought home a World/Olympic medal, tying legend Bruce Baumgartner for the longest streak in American wrestling history.
The First ROCKY Wrestling Shoe
The first ever Rocky Wrestling Shoe was released in November. The “Italian Stallion” represents the American icon, Rocky Balboa, and the never-back-down mentality that’s present in every wrestler. The “Italian Stallion” features an omni-directional, compression-molded outsole for extra traction and durability. Reinforced with micro-suede for maximum flexibility, this shoe is designed for motion.

Designed with improved surface materials and arch support, the Journey Knit is a pillow of comfort and flexibility. Available in new colors, the Journey Knit Training shoe is the must-have shoe for wrestlers.
An Oliver Branch of Peace at the World Cup
Prior to the World Cup Championships in December, Jordan Burroughs, America’s “winningest wrestler”, initiated a 100 shoe giveaway to extend the olive branch of peace to wrestlers present in town to compete for gold in Coralville, Iowa. This was meant to represent the goodwill of giving back to help grow the international wrestling community. RUDIS athletes contributing to this successful mission included Kayla Miracle, Emily Shilson, Spencer Lee, and Burroughs.
Team RUDIS at the 2022 World Cup
Reigning World champion, Kyle Snyder (97kg) led the U.S.Team’s efforts defeating Iran’s defending 2-time World champion, Kamran Ghasempour 5-0, clinching the Team title by a hotly-contested score of 6-4.
