From a young age Vince Lombardi had a passion for football. He started his career by playing the sport, but his true excellence was in coaching. He believed in discipline as the path to greatness. Although his methodology has been called spartan or fanatic, his results speak louder than his critics. Along with his “iron discipline” Lombardi is known for his tolerance of any race or sexual preference. As his younger brother was gay, and he grew up hearing racial slurs as an Italian American, he had a zero-tolerance for discrimination. The intensity with which he approached his craft makes him an ambassador of the RUDIS core values. His legacy lives on as a blueprint for success.
