Bergen Catholic Custom Team Gear Journey

(Bergen Catholic wrestling Team)

Q: How important is team unity and identity to your team’s success?

Team unity is one of the most important aspects of our team. We are a highly decorated program, with a tremendous amount of individual accolades, but some of our most proud and cherished moments are our accomplishments as a team. The bond of brotherhood our wrestlers have with one another is second to none, our wrestlers and coaching staff embody team unity and why we have been such a successful program.

Q: Why did you choose RUDIS for your custom team gear?

Easy... It's simply the best. It's made for wrestlers by wrestlers. The quality is great and the process has been seamless.

What did you like about the process with RUDIS?

Sean O'Hara makes everything easy for us. The design process is completely collaborative and it is honestly very fun watching our gear bundle come to life. The ordering and receiving of products is always easy and timely.

When do you recommend coaches start their team gear process?

Starting early is key... We start the design process in August, submit our team bundle order the second week of September, then our Parent's online gear shop opens the first week of October. We received all of our gear bundles towards the end of October and Parent orders will arrive just in time for the holidays.

Have you noticed any positive changes in team morale and performance when wrestlers wear matching custom gear?

The boys love getting their new gear bundles each season. Everyone has their own favorite pieces, but when they put on their team warm-up for the first time... You know it's wrestling season!

What’s your coaching style?

I coach and lead from a place of passion. I bring passion to everything I do, but especially coaching! How can you not be excited everyday coaching one of the best programs in the country, with some of the best wrestlers in the country? I'm a goal orientated coach that wants maximum effort in the classroom and on the mat, a relentless pursuit of goals and dreams, and I want to surround myself with wrestlers and coaches with the same purpose and values... A tribal mentality.

What are your goals for the year for your team?

We always want to be the best, but every time one of our wrestlers steps on the mat, regardless of the outcome, I want that opposing wrestler to see the scarlet and gold, know they are about to go into some deep water, and better be ready because our Crusader is ready to battle. Once a crusader, always a crusader and we stand on the shoulders of those before us.
