Iowa City, IA – No one knows better about the dedication needed to win an NCAA championship than Lee himself. Since 2020, Spencer has stayed off the wrestling mat. Recovering from two knee surgeries, Spencer’s comeback is a feat of will and determination. What others would consider an impossible miracle, Lee considers his recovery process a test of mind, heart, and body. After a season of recovery and rehabilitation, nothing can stop Spencer from achieving his dream of becoming a 4x NCAA champion.

On Sunday, December 4th, Spencer walked into the Carver-Hawkeye arena to an expecting crowd. He wrestled Corey Cabanban of Iowa State and won in a dominant fashion of 16-5. Overall, Sunday marked a big win for Iowa. With Spencer as the team’s extra fire-power, the University of Iowa walked away with a 18-15 win.

Spencer Lee has amassed one of the most-impressive careers in the history of collegiate wrestling. What remains equally impressive is his unsung leadership and character off the mat. Ultimately, Spencer Lee embodies the core values of what RUDIS is all about: a daily determination to the pursuit of greatness.
