World Silver Medalist Kayla Miracle is breaking boundaries and paving the way for female wrestlers as she turns her aspirations into realities. “Thinking about where I am and how far I can go, pushes me beyond my comfort zone. I strive to reach a higher level every day and become my best self not only on the mat but off the mat. I just want to get better, 1% every day.”
From 2017-18 Kayla emerged as one of the most dominant domestic wrestlers in the country, winning the US Senior Women’s Title in three consecutive years. She broke through on the international scene winning final X in dominant fashion and earned a spot on her first US World Team in 2019 and placed 8th at the World Championships in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan.
Miracle accomplished every athlete’s dream when she earned a spot on the 2022 US Olympic Team and placed 12th at the games in Tokyo, JPN. Building off her Olympic experience Kayla earned her third appearance on Team USA in 2021. Capitalizing on years of near misses, Miracle dominated her way to the 2021 World Championship Finals and pushed way to the World Silver medal at 62kg in Oslo, Norway.
Injuries derailed a large portion of Kayla’s 2022 season and could have stunted the progress of the Olympian, but greatness does not rest and she pushed forward to earn a spot in her fourth World Championship. Miracle embraced her challenges and battled to collect her second consecutive World SIlver medal and also led Team USA to a second place finish to Japan.
Kayla will continue to answer the call. Today’s heartbreak will provide fuel and resolve on the inevitable path to gold.
