An Ohio native, Nathan Tomasello grew up controlling the mat. He is known for holding many records at Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy school including most career victories, most victories in a season and winning more than 160 consecutive matches. With an amassed 178-5 record, Tomasello became a four-time OHSAA champion. In his redshirt at Ohio State, Tomasello proved his experience with an 18-0 record in open tournaments, including nine major decisions. During his collegiate career Nato became an NCAA Champion, a 4x NCAA All American and a 4x Big Ten Champion. In 2017, Tomasello made his first United State National Team with a 3-1 showing at the World Team Trials in Lincoln, Nebraska.
