ACHIEVEMENTS
DEFINING GREATNESS
Amit Elor is the new American rookie-phenom from California. She garnered global attention by defeating two-time World silver medalist Zhamila Bakbergenova of Kazakhstan at the 2022 World Championships in Belgrade, Serbia. With that astonishing victory, Elor became the youngest wrestler of any style or gender to win a senior World-title at the age of eighteen.
Dispelling the notion that she is just a ‘flash-in-the-pan’, Amit further bolstered her rookie legacy by becoming the second wrestler to win three World titles in different age groups in the same year. Elor credits these victories to the management of her emotions by blocking negativity and a strict-adherence to her game plan. With machine-like precision, she dominated the field in the ‘21 Cadet Championships (Budapest), the ‘21 U17 Championships (Russia), the ‘22 U20 Championships (Bulgaria), the ‘22 U23 Championships (Spain), and the '23 U20 Championships (Jordan).
RELENTLESS IMPROVEMENT
Amit suffered a major setback when her Father passed away a month before the World team trials. Forced into self-inspection, she emerged with a fresh commitment to chasing her dreams. Amit’s mother, Elana Elor, credited Amit’s incredible mental toughness to her great Grandmother, a Holocaust survivor. With her inner strength and the strong faithful support of her loving family, Elor’s goal changed dramatically. She refused to remain content with securing a spot on the senior World team. This conviction ultimately led her to become a 2022 World champion.
CHAMPION MINDSET
Now that she has become the face of a new generation of young wrestlers, Amit continues to aspire to represent young women in pursuit of greatness.
